Fundraising Dinner
2010: By the grace and mercy
of Allah, on Sunday 16th May 2010 a Fund Raising dinner was held at
the New Community Hall, Central Mosque, Glasgow, to collect funds
for the completion of Cumbernauld Mosque.
Alhamdo Lillah we received pledges
totalling £158,000 on the night. Subhana Allah the Ummah is strong.
Please
accept our most sincere thanks you for all your Duas and kind
donations. The turn out was strong, the
hall was filled to the brim with over 700 people.
We would like to thank everybody who contributed and to all
people who attended the function. Our special thanks are due to the
Sisters, from Glasgow, Coatbridge and Cumbernauld, for their
valuable contribution and help.
15 October 2009: The roof is now installed
and all outside brickwork including the blue bricks at the
top of the building is completed. the windows and doors
glazing are in progress. A grey tinted colour was chosen.

02 September 2009: Alhamdullilah, a permanent water
connection is now in place. We used to hire a standpipe from
Scottish water for water supply, but now we have got a metered
permanent water connection. The work is going on to feed various
locations at the site with water at the present time.
28 August 2009:
By the Grace of Allah, many activities are in
progress. The installation of the roof is almost complete.
The doors and window frames are in place as
planned.
21 July 2009:
By the Grace of Allah, many activities are in
progress. Facing bricks are in near completion. A major move
forward is in the installation of the roof which is currently in
progress.
25 June 2009:
The instructions to proceed with the roofing
and sun pipes works are now in progress.
Order now placed for the bulk materials needed with the
supplier. The preparations including the installation of the Mansafe
nets will start soon. Installation
of the window frames agreed with North Aluminium Ltd to proceed.
23 May 2009:
Roofing type and installation costs are under intense negotiations.
The cost is expected to fall in the range of £70,000 . Your
contributions towards this will be greatly appreciated.
4 May 2009:
Facing bricks installation started
29 April 2009: Facing bricks
will be installed. Two silos are ready at the site to provide two
mortar colours to suit the standard and special bricks. A Forklift
was bought for £1000 to move and lift mortars and bricks to the
site.
24 April 2009: All timber
installation's work needed for the roof are completed today.
Temporary lighting to the whole site and the building are installed
and in use.
21 March 2009: Alhamdullilah,
the stairs have been
installed.

27 July 2008: By the Grace of
Allah, the mid landing and roof construction is under way. CHC
Floors supplied the mid landing floor, stairs, safety netting and
machinery required. The mid floor is almost complete which
will be followed by the stairs inshaAllah.
